GPG-03 V4 Adoption and Use of AS 1851-2012
This Good Practice Guide is intended to provide practical
guidance on the regulatory framework relating to the maintenance of
fire protection systems and equipment in each state and territory
and the use of AS 1851-2012.
Version 4 includes updates to acknowledge the following changes
in legislation and codes:
- Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service Advisory Note -
Maintenance of Building Fire Safety Measures, published December
2015 confirming AS 1851-2012 is a relevant standard for maintenance
pursuant to regulation 11(6)(a) of the Fire and Emergency
- Victorian Building Amendment Regulations 2016, dated 26 April
2016 - introduced new regulation 1205A confirming compliance with
AS 1851-2012 is taken as compliance with earlier edition of AS 1851
or equivalent standard nominated as a condition on an occupancy
permit or maintenance determination.
