Technical Committees (TCs)

One of the most important activities of FPA Australia is running the National Technical Committees. There are 5 of these, each with a different speciality, and each provides input into the development of Australian Standards relating to their specific are of fire protection, contributes to the technical policies of the Association and assists in the preparation of submissions to regulatory bodies.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

FPA Australia has formed special interest groups in order to provide a forum to bring together FPA Australia members with allied interests, keeping them up to date and facilitate communication. Membership of special interest groups is open to members who are able to demonstrate a professional connection to the work of the particular group.

NFPA Guideline Projects

FPA Australia has a written agreement with the USA equivalent association, NFPA, which allows us to localise NFPA codes (similar to Australian Standards) for use in Australia. A projects committee manages the process and is currently working on a number of codes.
