Global life safety technology company Halma this week acquired a 70% stake in Australian fire protection maintenance software provider FireMate.

FireMate, an FPA Australia Platinum Member, joins Halma's stable of infrastructure safety sector companies that also includes Ampac Technologies and Apollo.

FireMate will remain an Australian-based organisation led by its current management team, and the partnership will enable the company to take advantage of its new international connections.

"This milestone solidifies FireMate's strengths in the fire protection industry and positions us for long-term innovation and growth," said Rob Thomas, FireMate's Managing Director.

"The combined business will leverage our forays into international markets, give us a more robust presence, and broaden our knowledge and software development possibilities."

The partnership is a reflection of the high level of innovation coming out of the Australian fire protection industry, according to FPA Australia's CEO Scott Williams.

"Australia has a history of developing new and innovative fire protection solutions, and Halma's investment in FireMate demonstrates a recognition of that by global players in this space," said Mr Williams.
