Conference surplus to help Covid-19 lockins

Posted on : Friday, 10 July 2020

Out of the pandemic comes some positive news.

Having had to cancel our Fire Australia 2020 conference this year, FPA Australia was left with a large number of 2020 branded bags for the Expo that were no longer useful.

FPA Australia and brand sponsors Uptick have chosen to donated this surplus material to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (https://www.asrc.org.au).

This is a charity that provides various frontline support services to those in need, usually to people seeking asylum.

However, they have recently taken on the task of providing food and material aid to those in the residential towers in Melbourne, that were recently locked down in response to new coronavirus outbreaks.

Previously meals were packaged and delivered in freezer plastic bags, but the Centre will now be able to use our expo bags, which will allow them to deliver more items to more people.

The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre were extremely appreciative and sent their sincere thanks.
