President's Report - December, 2021
Posted on : Thursday, 23 December 2021
Dear members,
On behalf of the Board and staff at FPA Australia, I want to
wish all of our members and supporters the compliments of the
season.
The new Board is working hard on its strategy for 2022 and we
hope to catch up with you at a face-to-face event in the new
year.
This year we have nine board members:
- four continuing directors: me (President), Patrick Conway
(Vice-President), Rob Broadhead, and Russell Porteous;
- two new directors: Michael Donegan and Mark Potter;
and
- three co-opted directors: John Lynch, Yvonne Pengilly,
and Stuart Yarnall.
The Board is supported by our Company Secretary, Edna
Coetzee.
Patrick and I are honoured to have been elected to lead the
Association, and we are strongly committed to delivering tangible
results for FPA Australia and its members.
The Association has a lot of potential, and has an opportunity
to build upon the successes of the last 12 months.
With the restrictions posed by the Coronavirus pandemic now
ending, FPA Australia is anticipating a return to more in-person
events, stronger advocacy, better technical support, expanded
training programs, and further improvements to our accreditation
schemes and customer service.
Although we are still growing, the Board and team want to make
sure that the industry's needs and concerns are always being heard
and addressed, so that there is a value to belonging.
We know that our members are busy people and recognise that red
tape can be frustrating and unnecessary, so will continue to focus
on making your lives simpler and less bureaucratic.
To keep you informed about our progress, I hope to hold a
podcast in the first quarter of the year, so keep your eyes peeled
on FireSignals for the link!
In the meantime, the Board and I wish you all a peaceful holiday
and a happy and successful 2022, and look forward to seeing you in
the new year.
Kind regards,
Bob Grieve
President
