John Clampett joins FPA Australia as National Manager Technical

With Nathan Semos's elevation to Chief Operating Officer, FPA Australia has appointed John Clampett to lead the Technical team.  


John brings 40 years' experience to the position, across various building and fire protection roles. 


He has detailed knowledge covering areas as diverse as fire engineering, building surveying, facility management, regulation and standards development, and research. 


Amongst other roles, he has been a professional fire fighter, is a registered building surveyor, has held senior roles in the MFB and  Australian Building Codes Board, was  Fire Manager at Building Research Association of New Zealand (BRANZ), General Manager Industrial Research Services at CSIRO, Building Compliance Manager at  Crown Entertainment Complex, worked at Norman Disney and Young, and has consulted to AFAC and Fire and Rescue NSW. 


With such an in-depth background in the fire protection and regulatory space, John is ideally positioned to guide the Technical team through its current responsibilities and to map out a course for the future.  


He will oversee improvements to the Association's technical advice services, the development of content, and our ongoing technical and advocacy activities.  


He will also help to finalise the Technical webinar series to ensure that there is a steady flow of events to support the industry.
