Fire Australia 2020 cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns

Posted on : Friday, 13 March 2020

After careful consideration of the concerns around the COVID-19 virus, Fire Protection Association Australia (FPA Australia) has made the difficult decision to cancel the Fire Australia Conference and Tradeshow 2020, scheduled for 6-8 May at ICC Sydney.

The Association's primary consideration is the health and safety of everyone in our industry. We also want to ensure delegates, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors have a positive and valuable experience at Fire Australia. With the growing concerns about the dangers of COVID-19 and many companies now implementing staff travel bans, we couldn't guarantee the high-quality event that we strive to bring you every year.

We are disappointed we are unable to hold Fire Australia 2020 because of this unprecedented global situation, but the Association feels it's the best decision for the industry based on the information we have today.

We invite all delegates, exhibitors and sponsors to roll their bookings over to next year's event, Fire Australia 2021 in Melbourne. With the extra time to prepare, we will be working on coming back with a bang and making next year's event something particularly special.

For all those who would prefer, we will also be offering full refunds. Our team will be reaching out to all delegates, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors individually in the coming days - please be patient as we work through this process.

We are also exploring options to deliver this year's Fire Australia conference content electronically, as we will with all other in-person Association events until the COVID-19 crisis is resolved. Stay tuned for more developments on this.

We thank everyone involved in the Fire Australia Conference and Tradeshow for being part of the premier event on the fire protection industry calendar, and for their support. This event is for you, and we want to make it the best it can be. We look forward to doing just that in Melbourne in 2021.
