Unanimous vote for new Constitution and by-laws

Posted on : Tuesday, 14 November 2017

Fire Protection Association Australia (FPA Australia) members voted unanimously to adopt a new constitution and by-laws in a special resolution at the Association's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 9 November.

The new FPA Australia Constitution and by-laws replace the previous Memorandum and Articles of Association, and allows FPA Australia to fully comply with the requirements of the Corporations Act 2001 and the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012.

The new Constitution and by-laws is also contemporary in nature, and reflects the evolving maturity of the Association and its significant growth as the peak body for the fire protection industry in Australia.

The special resolution to accept the new Constitution and by-laws was passed by a 100% affirmative vote, with the change effective immediately.

The new documents are available here.
