AS1851-2012 Seminars

Posted on : Thursday, 10 November 2016

The introduction of AS1851-2012 was meant to set the foundations for routine servicing of fire protection systems. However, there has been confusion over some of the definitions of baseline data.

FPA Australia worked closely with Standards Australia's FP-001 committee to clarify the situation regarding the requirements for baseline data. FPA Australia has also been simultaneously developing a Good Practice Guide on how to establish baseline data and actions to take if it isn't available.

Amendment 1 to AS1851-2012 resolves the issue and FPA Australia has developed a Good Practice Guide on baseline data to assist members even further.

Amendment 1 along with the Good Practice Guide will provide a clearer and simpler pathway to compliance for fire protection companies, building owners and occupants.

FPA Australia will hold a series of seminars to provide a full brief on the changes and how to interpret them. Speakers include the Chair of Standard Australia's FP-001 Committee Glenn Talbot, Matthew Wright, GM Technical Services and Deputy CEO of FPA Australia and Brett Dundules, Senior Technical Officer, FPA Australia.

The seminars will be held in Melbourne (29 Nov) , Adelaide (30 Nov), Perth, (1 Dec) Sydney (6 Dec) and Brisbane  (7 Dec). FPA Australia is also accepting expressions of interest to host AS1851-2012 in other states. To express your interest please contact the event team at
