Privacy act changes data breach rules

Amendments to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) took effect on 23 February 2018 with respect to a mandatory data breach notification system. Breaches of this part of the Privacy Act – the new Part IIIC – may lead to personal liability of directors and officers.
