To all those who attended or participated in
Fire Australia, 2013 FPA Australia and the conference organising
committee wish to say thank you for making it a fantastic success.
Both streams of presentations were well attended throughout both
days and the exhibition received hundreds of additional attendees.
The dinner function was thoroughly enjoyed by all guests, with
approximately $8,000 being raised for the Burns Unit at the
Children's Hospital at Westmead.
If you missed a presentation stream, a day or the entire
conference you can purchase video recordings of all conference
content. There is even a discount available to those that attended
the conference as a delegate. For more information and to place an

After two days of two streams, 36 presentations and
one discussion forum, four resolutions were
- The need for a nationally consistent, rigorous and fair
accreditation system for the fire protection industry.
- The need for increased harmonization across all facets of the
industry through consistent regulatory frameworks, standards and
- The need for continual education and training within the fire
protection industry including ongoing up-skilling and re-skilling
of the entire workforce.
- The need for a shared vision and holistic pathway for national
micro-economic reform to improve construction industry productivity
through truly performance based regulation, engineering and
education of professionals.
Recognition of Support
Fire Australia is a huge undertaking and wouldn't be
possible without the support of many individuals, groups and
organisations. First is the organising committee which develops and
directs the theme, presentations and format of the conference. Next
is the time and effort put in by all the speakers to create a
comprehensive and engaging program.
The financial support of all sponsors makes it
possible to hold the event in a world class conference venue and
provide attendees with a better experience all round. Special
mention goes to the 2013 Platinum Sponsor,
Those companies and organisations that exhibit
provide greater incentive for industry personnel to visit and it
was fantastic to see an amazing array of custom built stands
this year. Finally, the dedicated team of FPA
Australia staff who assist during the conference should also be
recognised for their hard work.
With the cycle of Fire Australia changing to March there
will be no conference next year. Instead the next Fire Australia
will be held in March 2015. Below are the details for your
diary. Further details will be available around the middle of next
