Workplace Emergency Response (WER)
The Workplace Emergency Response
Certification Scheme is currently on hold and no applications are
being accepted at this time.
The current review will ensure the scheme is relaunched in the
near future with a robust framework designed to recognise those who
meet the rigour required for such an important scheme.
FPA Australia is maintaining a list of those interested in
applying to be certified in this scheme once it is relaunched. To
be added to this list, and notified of the relaunch of the WER
Certification Scheme, please email your details to fpas@fpaa.com.au
FPA Australia's WER Certification Program offers individuals and
businesses that provide workplace emergency response (WER) services
an opportunity to be recognised by industry, end-users and the
community as providers of professional WER services.
WER Certified Practitioners and Certified Businesses meet
specific requirements relating to developing emergency response
procedures based on AS 3745 Emergency control & procedures
for buildings, structures & workplaces.
Business certification and Practitioner certification work in
tandem; a Certified Business may only promote and deliver its
services as a Certified Business when it engages Certified
Practitioners to deliver services and sign off on WER projects.
Similarly, Certified Practitioners may only promote themselves
and their services as WER-Certified when they are engaged to
deliver WER services on behalf of a WER Certified Business.
