About Us
Fire Protection Association Australia is Australia's major
technical and educational fire safety organisation aiming to
achieve continual improvement in fire safety through active
membership and a range of activities.
FPA Australia provides a central source of information and
services to promote the protection of life, property and the
environment in Australia.
Members represent every aspect of the fire safety community -
manufacturers and suppliers of fire protection products and
services, fire-fighters, building owners, insurers, designers and
surveyors, government and legislators, educators and anyone else
working as part of the fire safety community - to provide a safer
environment for all Australians.
FPA Australia's Patron
In November 2008, FPA Australia was delighted that Her
Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC Governor-General of the Commonwealth
of Australia agreed to become Patron of the Association.
Her Excellency has a prior history with FPA Australia, opening
the 2004 annual Fire Australia Conference & Exhibition in her
role of Governor of Queensland. Growing up in Queensland, where
fire was a regular threat, meant that she was well aware of the
work of the fire protection services and the wider fire protection
industry.
FPA Australia is grateful for the Governor-General's support and
hopes to develop greater awareness of fire safety in the community
through the relationship.
